Dear Friends,

My Maine Adaptive Ski-A-Thon team is back at it, competing to raise funds for a great 501(c)3 organization that is always very visible on the hills at Sunday River. The lesson I find so great as I see all the participants and volunteers overcoming various physical hardships is that when people come together and help each other, we can feel the fantastic reward of happiness where there otherwise might have been dispare.

My fellow team member, Les Otten, co-founded Maine Adaptive Sports and Recreation 42 years ago. During that time Maine Adaptive has never charged a dime to provide recreational access to anyone with a special need. From a child with CP to a Vet in a chair, all of their services for the thousands of participants have come without a price tag.

Today I am asking you to support my participation in this year’s annual Ski-A-Thon by donating to my team. This year is especially poignant as it is the 10th anniversary of the passing of Les's co-founder and our collective Ski-A-Thon team member, Chip Crothers. And, as the Ski-A-Thon happens, I will be with Les in Park City where he is being inducted into the Ski Hall of Fame and answering the question "what is he most proud of about his long career of ski area and technology leadership?" His answer:  "I am proud of all that I did for skiing, but what I am most proud of is what I did for Maine Adaptive and all of its students, volunteers and staff."

Will you please join me in supporting this year’s event by giving generously?

Please hit the "Donate Now" button to the right and please help me meet my fundraising goal in this very special year!

Thanks for your consideration,

- Mark.
